Razavi's presentations at Accela annual user group

Accelarate 2018 October 10 to 13 in Atlanta Georgia. On October 11, 2018, at 2:30 PM,  and on October 12, 2018, at 3:30 PM, Amir Razavi is presenting at Accelarate 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. Razavi Application Developers has been an Accela Implementation partner and value-added reseller since 2007.

At Accelarate, on October 11, Razavi will present how DCRA has deployed AMO for third-party agencies to perform construction inspections. Using Accela Mobile Office (AMO), DCRA has given access to third party inspection agencies to access DCRA's permitting system to schedule the inspections, attach related documents, and provide inspection results. This presentation describes the functional and security requirements to implement AMO and how DCRA is currently using AMO for collaborative government. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) in Washington DC supports a thriving community of residents, businesses, and visitors through diligent protection of health and safety and equitable administration of regulation and compliance. DCRA has been using Accela since 2008 as its mission critical system to process and manage construction permits, and inspections as well as enforcing rules and regulations. DCRA believes in a collaborative government and providing system access to its governmental and non-governmental partners.

At Accelarate, on October 12, Razavi will discuss its achievement in migrating and upgrading Washington DC's Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) Accela systems a decade after Razavi rolled out ABRA's original implementation. ABRA was originally part of a multi-agency self-hosted Accela implementation in Washington DC. Over time, conflicting priorities with other agencies, rising maintenance costs, and lack of adequate support pushed ABRA to look at alternative ways to utilize Accela. After extensive review and analysis with the help of Razavi, ABRA decided to leave the self-hosted environment and migrate to Accela subscription. The challenges included converting data from MS SQL Server to Oracle, reworking dozens of Crystal Reports to run in Accela's subscription, uploading electronic documents, and upgrading to a new version of Accela all at the same time. ABRA has been using Accela subscription for 2.5 years now with great success and is enjoying the many benefits of version 9.x. This presentation is intended to help agencies that are considering migration from self-hosted to subscription understand the process, risks, and rewards.
